Niklas' Last Night

Yesterday evening was my flatmate Niklas' last one in Oslo for quite a while. The bastard's going to Austria to 'work' at a snowboard shop, party and ride fresh powder every day for half a year. A couple of his Swedish friends were throwing a little going-away party for him at their place and we were asked to join. So Øystein, ex-roomie Moy and I followed that invitation.

To make along story short: the night ended in mayhem. First at a very cool apartment with nice view over the bay and then at a cheesy bar/club called Tempest. But hey, we were drunk as fuck and I had maybe the most fun night here so far. Especially because the guys I was with were pleasantly non-macho, meaning their first immediate act after walking into the bar was not to scout the premise for hot tits'n'ass before going on an all evening pussy hunt. They, just like me, seem to be going out to get drunk, dance and have fun. And not primarily to get laid. I think I'll be going out with these guys a bit more in the future :)

Some side notes:
  • I am now officially known as 'Ze Gerrmen'
  • vodka + beer + tequila + cuba libre + more beer + party smoking is not a good idea
  • neither is leaving the window open all night in your drunk sleep when it's below zero outside
  • "I dare you to dance with that fat chick" is a fun game
  • people puking blood is not a pretty sight
  • and have you ever thought of smoking a potato?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Last Tuesday the WeSC concept store, on which I have been working on the past two months, finally opened. Without my graphics.

Yupp, due to some 'miscalculations' in the time management along with the label's need to open up in the lucrative Christmas season, my stuff will be added on in the next couple of weeks. But not to worry, there's also some engravings, logos and signs still missing. What a chaotic project.

But it already looks good even without graphics. And the opening party on location and at Horgan's was crowded anyways. Unfortunately only Alex, her sister and me were there to represent Bleed. I guess the other one's are getting too old for that kinda thing ;)

Christmas Time At Bleed

Ho-ho-ho.

Shut Up And Drive

Ok then, I've decided not to write so much about the trip after all, but instead show a couple of more impressions from the road.

After leaving at 9 in the morning on Saturday, we drove over six hours through beautiful scenery and weather – blue sky all the way – to our cottage in Aurland directly situated next to the fjord. On our way we encountered, besides Norwegian back country at its best, freezing temperatures as low as -15°C, dozens of tunnels, a town made for short people and two very laid back truck drivers. And at some points we felt very lucky our rental had four wheel drive...

At our destination awaited us a luxurious cottage with breathtaking view. After enjoying the hypnotic effect of the fireplace and a hearty dinner, we let the night drown out with a couple of drinks, some relaxed card playing and a good movie. Rise and shine the next morning at 8 and all the way back again on a slightly different route.

Sounds cheesy, I know, but what do you expect to happen in surroundings that Bob Ross himself couldn't have done better :)
