Neuland

Whoopdeewhoop – I've been published again! This time in the very fine Neuland – The Future Of German Graphic Design, curated by Twopoints and published by Actar. Although the work in there isn't exactly my most recent – and most favorite for that matter – I'm still a little proud to be noted alongside such great designers as Pixelgarten, Node or Purple Haze. Also, there is a long list of ex-Mathildenhöhe colleagues and friends like Tobi Becker, Michi Satter, Charlie Hoffmann or John Russo & Gina Mönch presented in there. Heck, with U9 even one of my ex-profs is showcased! Ok, enough with the name dropping, but I guess Darmstadt wasn't such a bad choice after all ;)

Anyways, the custom made font of the book takes some getting used to just as well as the black on silver print of the body text. Also they translated my English 'interview' into german rather stiffly. Nonetheless I think it's great book, delivering a nice overlook of contemporary german design while adding a fun personal note with the casual questionnaires. I'm very happy and honoured to be part of it. Go out, buy a copy and become the giggly little schoolgirl that is me right now :)

Hurling Monster

I've been asked to contribute an illustration to the soon to be released book Nachts In Darmstadt. I can't really tell you what the exact concept of the book is 'cause I honestly don't know. Something about nights in the town of Darmstadt obviously, but other than that, no clue. Anyways, I was supposed to illustrate the poem "Reiß' mein Leben aus dem Staube" ("Rip my life out of the dust") by german lyricist Heinz Winfried Sabais. Here is the full poem in German and here's my work, yippey!

Hope they don't bust my ass for posting this prior to the release...
EDIT: Bunny replaced with monster, still not perfect but a better fit.

Kiteforum Logo – A Process

So here, as promised, the logo I did for Kiteforum.no, André's little baby. The old logo consisted of a flying eagle silhouette as well as the initials 'KF' in a script font – you can see it here. André wanted to keep the eagle for recognition / identification purposes but spice the image up a little and maybe add a logotype – and so I did. All in all it was a three week process, most of it done after hours. I don't think I've ever made quicker decisions...

Bombay Diplomas

Finally able to put some work up again, been over two months already since the last time. Here are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place diplomas for the winners of the Norwegian final of the Bombay Sapphire Designerglass Competition. Prints are 250x353mm with glossy gold/silver/copper paper on the back and signatures printed in gold/silver/copper foil on the front. The diplomas were then actually put between two glass plates and framed with black wood – it looked as if the diplomas were floating within the frame. Unfortunately I was in Germany when everything was finished (also during the award ceremony) and therefore unable to take pictures of the final results. Only thing I could find was this teeny tiny image here. Well, anyways...

Encore Une Fois

Here are the pictures of the printed stuff. And yupp, I went for the ol' holding-the-poster-up-in-front-of-a-white-wall look, even though I don't like it :P Hope you enjoy it anyways...

Et Voilà

Two A1 posters. Six A6 folded flyers. UV varnish on all of them.
Not to forget a sweet little intro on designerglasscompetition.bleed.no.
Bombay. Fucking. Sapphire. Read 'em and weep ;)

I'll try and get some pictures of the actual printed material up soon. The bottom three images are the unfolded inside of the flyer plus two unfolded outside examples by the way.
